Biography

Abdiel Perez is a third-year student at New Mexico State University and part of the 23rd Cohort at CAMP studying a double major in Elementary Education and Foreign Languages with a concentration in Spanish. He is originally from Puerto Palomas, Chihuahua, and completed his elementary and secondary education in Columbus and Deming, NM.

Currently, he works with NMSU CAMP as a COMPA/Mentor, assisting several students in successfully completing their first year of college. Likewise, he has continued contributing to CAMP through leadership and community service in its Student Council.

Abdiel seeks to support his community through bilingual education. He seeks to motivate his students to feel proud of and embrace their roots and language while learning. He wishes to leave a positive legacy for his community and future generations. ¡Sí se puede!
