Biography

My name is Maria Reyna-Campos. I grew up in Torreón, Coahuila, in Mexico until 2023, when I moved to Hatch, New Mexico and where I graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 2025. I come from a family full of generations of field workers who had motivated me to get a degree. In my family, I’m the oldest of five kids, and the first one to take a step into an American college, having a lot to learn and a lot to teach to my younger siblings. I’m currently in my second year of the Animation & Visual Effects major in the Creative Media Institute here at New Mexico State University.

In CAMP, I recently began working with the research team. I’m doing the best I can to support the program and the students’ success though that data management, something I’m happy to do for a program that has helped me with everything. Being in an immigrant family of seven had taught me resilience while also being grateful and hardworking for what you’ve accomplished, something I’ve learned in CAMP, my second family, as well.
