Biography
Karina Ramirez was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico where she lived most of her life until she was 15 years old. Her family decided to move to Odessa Texas, where she was a 10th grader at Odessa High School. Months later, for work reasons, she moved with her family to Deming New Mexico where she finished her high school studies. During her stay at Deming High, she was part of the migrant program which was a great help along with CAMP so that she could attend the University.Karina has a bachelor's degree in Social Work and foreign languages in Spanish and is a Graduate student at NMSU majoring in Social Work. She is part of the 19th cohort and has participated in several CAMP activities. Also, she participated in the Medicinal Plants internship in the summer of 2021. For the summer of 2022, Karina started an internship with Save the Children Action Network from April 2022 to August 2022.
