Thomas Cisneros
Biography
Thomas Cisneros is a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate at New Mexico State University, specializing in Bioengineering and Biomechanics. He earned his B.S. and M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from NMSU, where he joined as part of the CAMP program (12th cohort). During his bachelor’s degree, Thomas discovered his passion for science and research through the CAMP Medicinal Plants of the Southwest summer internship. During his Ph.D., he has been a recipient of NIH fellowships, including the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE5) and G-RISE programs. Thomas has extensive research experience in material testing, advanced microscopy, and computational modeling, focusing on the mechanical properties of biological tissues. Outside of academics, he enjoys spending time with family, hiking, visiting local coffee shops, and pursuing hobbies like 3D printing and building puzzles.
