My name is Ismeralda Rivera, and I am a senior at New Mexico State University majoring in Accounting and Spanish. I graduated from Deming High School, and I am originally from Janos, Chihuahua, Mexico. Moving from Mexico to the United States and going to college here has been a big part of my life. It has taught me to work hard, keep going, and not give up when things get difficult. As a first-generation college student, I have had different challenges during my college journey, but they have also helped me grow and become more confident.

I am currently a COMPA with the NMSU College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). Being part of CAMP has given me the chance to meet new people, learn new things, and help other students. I am happy to be part of a program that has helped me during my college journey, and I hope I can do the same for other students. My goal is to graduate, start my career in accounting, and continue growing both personally and professionally.
