Biography

Brenda Carrasco completed a double major in Public Health and Spanish at New Mexico State University (NMSU), graduating in December 2024. She is also pursuing a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Behavior and Health Promotion (HBHP), which she expects to complete in December 2026. Originally from Meoqui, Chihuahua. Brenda grew up in an agricultural family where she learned the values of perseverance, responsibility, and collaboration.

Currently, Brenda works part-time at Amador Health Center in Las Cruces, supporting Community Health Workers in addressing healthcare disparities, providing education on chronic disease prevention, and helping dairy worker families access care. She also serves as a Graduate Assistant with NMSU CAMP, contributing to research and student support initiatives that empower migrant students to succeed in higher education.

Looking forward, Brenda aspires to build a career dedicated to expanding and connecting resources for low-income populations. By combining her training in HBHP with her professional experiences, she seeks to design and implement programs and policies that address immediate health needs while creating sustainable pathways for long-term well-being in underserved communities.
