Biography

Yvette Cortez comes from a migrant family where her father worked in the fields across New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Colorado for over 30 years. As a young child, Yvette migrated with her family from state to state facing the daily struggles and challenges of a migrant family. This motivated her to earn her undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources with an emphasis in managerial leadership, and a minor in Spanish from New Mexico State University. Yvette’s passion is to help students identify and reach their academic goals, as she can relate to the challenges that students encounter on a daily basis at the university level.
