Martha A. Estrada
Biography
The granddaughter of a Bracero from Jalisco and first-generation Mexican-American, Martha has dedicated her professional career to serving students and families in higher education. For seven years, Martha served as the NMSU CAMP Academic Advisor before making her way to Seattle to serve as the founding CAMP Director at the University of Washington. She returned to her home state to serve as CAMP Director at Northern New Mexico College. Most recently, Martha served as the College & Career Readiness Coordinator for the New Mexico Higher Education Department’s GEAR UP Program. At the national level, Martha has served as the Western Stream Representative for the National HEP CAMP Association, the National HEP CAMP Association’s Student Internship Selection Committee, the HEP CAMP National Conference Planning Committee, and as a reader for the HACU National Scholarship Program. Martha holds bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Spanish, as well as a master’s degree in Educational Management and Development with an emphasis in higher education administration, all from NMSU. As the first in her family to attend and graduate college, Martha is passionate about working with students and their families to ensure they have the tools and resources necessary to succeed throughout their college career.
