Melanie Zepeda, a Journalism Media Studies and Political Science student from Anthony, New Mexico, is dedicated to pushing her academic and personal boundaries to build practical knowledge for her future career. Driven by a desire to expand her global perspective, her post-graduation plans begin with teaching abroad for a year to support international students through language education. Following this international gap year, Melanie plans to return home to work as a legal assistant at a law firm, where she can directly assist marginalized individuals navigating complex legal challenges.

Melanie’s personal and professional journey has been deeply shaped by the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), which provided crucial support, unique travel opportunities, and the confidence to believe in her own potential. This transformative experience fostered both her personal growth and skill development while inspiring a strong commitment to give back. Moving forward, she is dedicated to encouraging and guiding future students, helping them access the same empowering opportunities that made such a profound impact on her life.
